Facebook Blueprint Pilot

The new pilot certification from Facebook Blueprint was announce in late May and newsletter being sent out to subscribe from Facebook Business. Previously, I had the opportunity to take the Facebook Marketing Consultant Course. I was so excited as this is what I am waiting for.

As a digital marketing trainer, such valuable certification from the official Facebook social media will be a great help in my career. Earning such official credentials will help to distinguish myself as a Facebook digital marketing professional and it is the highest level of accreditation recognizes in marketing.

Facebook Digital Marketing Trend

Facebook digital marketing is expanding and large corporation is looking for talent who certified in the digital marketing field. By getting certified from Facebook Blueprint, it helps to identify the digital marketer who truly qualified to help them run a digital marketing through Facebook Page and their ads. It identify the appropriate action to align the corporate business goal to their digital marketing objective in social media marketing.

Good News! Digital Marketing Course is Free!

In mid-July, the good news arrived in my e-mail box. I was accepted in the pilot digital marketing skills program. The priority is given to Facebook marketing partners who will be participating in this pilot exam for free.

Well, I guess I am the first person in Malaysia who took the pilot exam and pass in August 2019.

Facebook marketing partners will be participating and provide their feedback after the examination. From my understanding, there are at least 200 candidates who took the examination. The survey email informs the earliest respondents will receive a gift from Facebook.

What is Facebook Certified Digital Marketing Associate?

Facebook Certified Digital Marketing Associate is a fundamental course and certification program for entry-level digital marketers.

Job seekers are recommended to take the certification to stand out from the crowd as Facebook Blueprint certification recognizes within the marketing and advertising industry. Student can even take the exam to gain advantages before their graduation for their future career in the advertising and marketing field.

However, the certification is valid for ONE year only. Once it is expired, the candidate has to re-take the examination to be qualified again.

The candidate who passes the exam will receive an official certified badge from Acclaim on October onward when it is official launch. The candidate may attach the certified badge link in their resume through the LinkedIn platform. They can also share it through Facebook and Twitter.

How To Study for Exam?

There will be free online courses related to the certification required. A total of 27 modules you may have to take. Each module consists of 2 up to 8 chapters.
For a quick start, you may try a practice test consists of 30 questions to understand which area you are lack of knowledge for the examination. Subsequently, you can prioritize to study those areas to study first.

The practical test is free to take anytime and anywhere. Once you are confident, you may schedule the real examination through an online proctored exam.

Issue You May Encounter?

It was my first time to take an online proctored exam. Therefore, you may have the same issue as I do. The process was confusing and complicated on the access interlink each other from the link between Facebook Blueprint, CertMetrics, and Pearson VUE. Sometimes the link does not work as it as. The workaround is to find an appropriate way to access it. Remember the flow to access the link to each other is:

Real Name Required for Examination:
The exam required a REAL name instead of nickname which I use in Facebook known as Legend Chew. As this platform is interlinked each other, changing your name for the examination can be done through Facebook Blueprint support.

It was an interesting course which I wanted to learn for a long time. Unfortunately, it’s much harder to understand than I thought. It is much difficult even for someone like me who came from a programming background. If a digital marketer who want to take this course, some may have difficulty to understand and implement the custom coding into the website. As the validation of Facebook (FB) Pixel may delay in respond on Facebook Business Manager. For the first time setup, it required up 20 minutes corresponding to validate the FB Pixel itself.

Facebook Pixel Course

Overall of the course is an easy to understand in theoretical method to implement the coding in the website header code. However, due to it use JavaScript(JS) programming language, it may cause a disturbing errors and bugs which should not exist yet exist over a decades. The most common error is “Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined?” whenever we fired a Facebook pixel under a click button. Some weird bugs which I still encounter is web cache bug. It happen when incorrect typing errors on coding. Even after correction, the same error still occur.

Since I mention the problem, it’s better that I provide the solution for you too. The first solution when you saw “Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined?” syntax error, just to add the below code into your html header code:

As for historical web cache bug, you may need to clean your cache browser and restart your browser before you rewrite/correct the code. It may happen from time to time since it called the bug of the decades.

Once again, Facebook Pixel course may be hard to understand. You do not need to take the course unless you want to become an official Facebook Marketing Consultant and get listed on the Facebook Partner Directory. Get Help

If you still insist to take the course and have trouble to access the coding exercise website (Repl.it) (which happen to me for last few months and got a dummy response for some reason), remember to finish up the quiz part first before accessing the coding exercise part. FMC Quiz required 60/74 in order to pass. If you failed, you got another 2 chances after 5 working days to retake the quiz. The coding exercise has 3 times the opportunity to submit the correct solution. Updates (16th August 2019)

Facebook Marketing Consultant course has been officially replaced by Facebook Blueprint and known as Facebook Ad Products Developer I Certification.

The new certification is available for certain countries only:

• United States, Canada, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Romania, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil

The e-learning course is free meanwhile the exam cost total of USD300 (exam and coding exercise). You will receive a Facebook Blueprint digital badge from Acclaim and the validity of the certification will last for ONE year only. You will have to retake the exam & coding exercise next year if you would like to maintain the Facebook qualification for Facebook Certified Ads Product Developer I.

Been part of the community in Steemit is one best choice I ever choose especially in #teammalaysia community. Lately, I have been very busy focus on other projects such as eUsahawan course and doing research on other projects. Which give me a plenty of excuses not able to write a post as usual in Steemit but this one is special. An evidence of hope which hopefully continues of Steemit and the rise of Steem price to build up confident of others to support it as well.

The #teammalaysia community has been doing a wonderful project and provide multiple support throughout not just a single state but the whole country of Malaysia as I write. They have been promoting one event after another but now even go to SteemFest to support the scattered community around the world.

Well, recently I just received my Steem Malaysia T-shirt (which I don’t want to buy in the first place but I love to support it back). A shoutout for @littlenewthings for persistent continuous promoting it in the #teammalaysia community in Discord and to ensure the design in our favor. She has been taking extra miles by direct message me (I believe she did the same for the rest) to confirm the delivery. For the first time ever happen in Penang, an exclusive event by Facebook Business, MATRADE and AVANA surprisingly really happen in 6 stars hotel – Eastern & Oriental at Lebuh Farquhar, George Town, Penang. The title of the program is known as “Made by Malaysia, Loved by the World” which teach about how to expand local business owner throughout the world.

A demonstration of how the AVANA system integrates with Facebook for the business owner to take advantage of niche marketing. Meanwhile, MATRADE provides an open opportunity for the business owner to take grant if they are successfully selected by them. The training session gives a general idea of how exporting abroad works from Malaysia to other countries. There are at least hundreds of participants turn up to join this training session. I met some familiar faces from eUsahawan Certified Trainers in the Northern Region as well as our past eUsahawan class students who attended this session.

Breakfast, lunch and tea time was superb. A well served services by the hotel hospitality.
